This paper examines the resilience of women victims of online loans (P2P lending) in confronting genderbased
violence (GBV) and gender-based cyber violence (GBCV), irrespective of whether the lending platforms
are legal or illegal. Statistics on P2P lending indicate that the number of female borrowers exceeds that of male
borrowers (OJK, 2022). The high number of female borrowers across various online lending platforms in Indonesia reflects improved financial inclusion, as women who previously faced difficulties in accessing financial services
now have easier access to loans. However, this increased accessibility is not accompanied by sufficient protective
measures for women, leading to various forms of GBV, including in the cyber realm. This study uses qualitative
methods, including in-depth interviews with five female victims from diverse social, economic, educational, and
occupational backgrounds. Additional support for the findings is provided through literature reviews, institutional
reports, fintech rules or policies, group discussions and case data from legal aid institutions, as well as online
media coverage. The analysis is framed through a intersectional feminism perspective, incorporating concepts
of patriarchy, structural victimization, resilience, and cyber-related crime. The findings reveal that these women
victims experienced GBV and GBCV as a result of debt collection practices by online loan companies, underscoring
the lack of inclusive regulatory protections for women. Despite ongoing trauma, the victims developed various
internal and external resilience strategies to continue fulfilling their roles.
